Mrs Akeredolu attends 2018 Fertility Conference powered by Parah Family Foundation
The wife of the Ondo State Governor and the Founder of the Breast Cancer Association of Nigeria (BRECAN), Mrs. Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu attends 2018 Fertility Conference powered by Parah Family Foundation.
Speaking at the Fertility Conference, themed “Understanding The ABC of Fertility”, Arabinrin Akeredolu affirmed that infertility either on the part of a man or a woman does not make such an individual less valuable to the society.
Mrs. Akeredolu frowned at traditional mindsets that has for long held such families down stressing that a woman with no issue has as much pain as a woman fighting for her life against the scourge of breast cancer.
While encouraging Nigerians to partner with PARAH Foundation in achieving the success of the project #100FAMILIES4START, Mrs. Akeredolu expressed disappointment at the fact that Nigerians do not have a culture of helping one another except on referrals , and called for a paradigm shift stressing that when one person is saved from that proceed, another person will benefit.
“We are grateful to Parah for providing these solutions. This goes a long way to show that science and religion work hand in hand”, she added while thanking all those present at the epoch making event.
Earlier in her welcome address, Mrs. Dayo Odukoya noted that Parah Family foundation was as a result of divine instruction to help couples spiritually, medically while also providing financial and emotional support to them.
Mrs. Odukoya who noted that it is the desire of most couples to have their own children at a particular time but end up going through so much stress, noted that with reproductive technologies like IVF, storage of egg and sperms which is now available in Nigeria, couples can now have their probabilities turned into reality.
In his lecture, one of the guest lecturers, Prof. Oladapo Adenrele Ashiru, identified different technological improvement in human reproductive health noting that couples now have a wide range of options which is inclusive of Sickle Cell patients having the choice of having normal babies
